MTSL Portfolio Guide

The MTSL digital portfolio will provide students in the TEFL/TESL program the opportunity to demonstrate development as a TESL professional while fulfilling graduation requirements. In the portfolio, students can explore connections between their academic classes, teaching and other professional experiences. With instructor guidance, each student produces and selects representative samples of his/her academic achievements and teaching artifacts reflecting the student's range of knowledge and growth as an ESL/EFL professional.

A portfolio, by definition, is a collection of well-documented evidence of a person's professional ability. As such the portfolio should represent your breadth and depth of understanding and practice in the TESL field.

Your professors will provide more detailed instructions for the content of the digital portfolio, but here are general instructions for you to reference as you complete your MTSL digital portfolio.

The basic steps of the portfolio are to:
  • Add content and evidence of growth and learning to the MTSL Program Portfolio in the assigned Assessment portfolio
  • Port the portfolio structure and content over to a graphic, personalized Presentation portfolio that you can edit and share
  • Share the Presentation portfolio with your instructors and classmates
